Welcome to Traveling Party of Four — a collection of family adventures, travel inspiration, and lessons learned along the way.
When I started this blog in 2017, it began as a simple dream: to create a virtual family scrapbook where we could preserve our photos, stories, and memories for years to come. I wanted my children to always have a place to revisit the places we explored and the experiences that shaped our family.
Over time, it grew into something much bigger — a resource to help families travel with more confidence, less stress, and a little more adventure.
Because I believe travel is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children.
It teaches curiosity.
It builds confidence.
It creates connection.
And it reminds us to slow down and appreciate the world around us.
Helping Families Travel With Confidence
I know family travel can feel overwhelming.
There are so many questions:
- Where do we even begin?
- Is traveling with kids worth all the effort?
- How do we keep everyone healthy and safe?
- Will they remember these trips?
The answer is yes.
They may not remember every restaurant, attraction, or hotel, but they will remember the feeling of exploring together. They will remember the laughter, the unexpected moments, and the adventures that became part of your family story.
My goal is to help you plan those experiences with confidence through destination guides, travel planning resources, health and wellness tips, packing lists, and practical advice gathered from years of traveling as a family.
A Little About Me
I am Jenny — a planner, researcher, adventure seeker, and mom who believes life is meant to be lived fully.
For 25 years, I worked as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner. It was one of the greatest privileges of my life. I was honored to care for patients and families through some of their most difficult and meaningful moments — from the fear of diagnosis to the hope of remission and, sometimes, the peaceful end of a long journey.
Those experiences changed me.
They taught me that time is precious, that experiences matter, and that we should not wait for “someday” to live the life we imagine.
That belief is at the heart of Traveling Party of Four.
Travel has always been a way for our family to connect, learn, laugh, and create memories together. Whether it was exploring Florida, visiting family in Puerto Rico, or venturing farther away to discover new places, each trip became part of our story.
Our Family
Our family has grown and changed since this journey began. Our children are now older, finding their own passions and beginning to create adventures of their own.
My husband, Andy, has always supported our love of travel despite the demands of his career. Together, we have made it a priority to step away from busy schedules and experience the world as a family.
Why Travel Matters
I love every part of travel planning — researching destinations, finding hidden gems, creating itineraries, discovering great food, and making lists (lots of lists!).
But the best moment is when my kids become part of the process — when they research a destination, find something they want to experience, and become excited about the adventure ahead.
That is when I know it is all worth it.
Travel is not just about where you go.
It is about who you become along the way.
While our family travel seasons have changed, this site remains a collection of the adventures, lessons, and resources we gathered along the way. I hope these stories inspire you to plan your own adventures — whether they are across the world or just across town.
